2020 Stockport Business Awards Cancelled

by

Founders and organisers, Clarke Nicklin Chartered Accountants, have made the decision to cancel the 2020 Stockport Business awards due to the current situation regarding Covid-19. Entries opened early April with the hope this year’s event could take place at Stockport Town Hall on the 08 October. However as the situation has developed and the uncertainty around venues being open, social distancing requirements if venues do open, and the variability of the situation for businesses, the event will now be postponed until 2021.

Managing Partner of Clarke Nicklin, Andrew Baggott, commented “After ongoing discussions regarding the key factors and practicalities of hosting the 2020 Stockport Business Awards in October, and in light of the current issues being faced by all businesses with the uncertainty surrounding when things will return to some form of ‘normal’, we have taken the very difficult decision to postpone the awards until 2021. We will return stronger in 2021, as we know the wonderful Stockport business community will do, and we hope you will be there to be part of what will be an amazing event, which will also be our 10 year celebration. We would like to say a huge thank you to all our sponsors and supporters for their continued support during this time.”

To support businesses in the area the Stockport Business Awards are showcasing local businesses on Instagram, urging businesses to reach out about how they’ve adapted during this time, and giving them a platform to tell their story and promote themselves. This has already proved successful as the comments and shares have created connections by putting businesses in touch with each other to generate new business, and also to support one another. Follow @stockportbusinessawards to see more.

Laura Frost, Marketing Manager at Clarke Nicklin, commented “whilst the awards may not be taking place this year, our ethos stays the same, supporting and championing businesses in the Borough, celebrating and promoting success and achievements, and connecting businesses towards working together.”
