The Stockport Business Awards, which is now in its 14^th year was set up by CN Chartered Accountants back in 2012 to recognise and reward businesses within the borough. Not only has the event seen introductions and strong alliances being built, but the awards have also supported over 10 charities and raised over £40K.

Founders, organisers and headline sponsors of the Stockport Business Awards, CN Chartered Accountants, have begun their search for the 2025 Stockport Business Award Charity Partner.

Entries are now open for charities to apply for the opportunity to partner up with the awards and benefit from all fundraising activities and proceeds from the evening. The chosen charity will get links and branding on the Stockport Business Awards website, PR coverage before and after the awards, promotion in the awards brochure, and the opportunity to form new relationships with local businesses in the area.

The Stockport Business Awards has been an iconic event within the business community of Stockport for over 10 years. Last Year’s chosen charity was Mentell, who raised over £5000 on the evening.

On the 3rd of October 2024 founders, organisers, and main sponsors CN Chartered Accountants hosted the 2024 Stockport Business Awards. The awards evening was held at the prestigious Edgeley Park. The awards evening saw another amazing turnout with over 350 guests in attendance to celebrate the success and achievements of the region’s finest businesses. 

TV and radio presenter, Jenny Powell, hosted the awards for the eighth consecutive year and did another fabulous job of keeping the enthusiastic crowd engaged for those all-important moments whilst proving a great sense of humour, achievement and community in her presenting.

Mentell were this year’s nominated charity and over £5000 was raised for the Stockport founded charity.  Dave Thompson, A community member of the charity gave a monumental speech, silencing the room before receiving a standing ovation at the end. The money will all go back into supporting men in Stockport by providing safe spaces for them to talk.

The room was once again buzzing, and all seemed to have a great time. The Stockport business community is strong, and we all celebrated some amazing winners and shortlisted companies. Founders, main sponsors and organisers, CN Chartered Accountants, have announced the shortlist for the 2024 Stockport Business Awards. Over 100 entries across the 13 categories were received for this year’s awards and the judging took place on Thursday the 4^th of July.

The judging panel consisted of representatives from founders & organisers CN Chartered Accountants, Headline sponsors Gorvins Solicitors and representatives from Stockport Borough Council, the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and our design partner, Dawn, were also on the panel.

Four members of staff from CN Chartered Accountants completed Born Survivor last weekend to raise money for the Stockport Business Awards Charity Partner, Mentell.

CN Chartered Accountants are the founders, organisers and headline sponsors for the business awards and each year a local charity is chosen to gain any proceeds from the evening. However, this year the team at the Stockport-based accountancy firm decided to raise a little bit more money for the charity by participating in Born Survivor.

Georgia Hilton, Graham Travis, Ellie Jones and Chris Roche trekked through mud and over obstacles to complete the 6KM obstacle course on Saturday morning. The 4 members raised over £500 for the charity, which offers safe spaces for men to go and talk (or listen) about issues they are having.
