Stockport Business Awards 2021 Date Revealed

2021 DATE REVEALED FOR 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF STOCKPORT BUSINESS AWARDS!
As the Stockport Business Awards was cancelled this year due to COVID-19, founders and organisers, Clarke Nicklin Chartered Accountants, are thrilled to announce the awards will be back for their 10th anniversary at Stockport Town Hall on the 30th September 2021.
The 2020 awards, due to take place in October this year, were cancelled back in May, due to ongoing uncertainty surrounding social distancing measures. However, Stockport Town Hall have confirmed that the awards can take place next year, to celebrate and champion local businesses once more.
The team are already in the process of planning and organising the awards for next year, the 2021 event is set to be an exciting and monumental year – marking ten years since Stockport Business Awards began.
Laura Frost, Marketing Manager at Clarke Nicklin, commented “It has been disappointing not being able to host this year’s event but under current circumstances we feel it was the right thing to do, the support from the business community has been incredible and we are thrilled to be planning next year’s event and making it the best yet, especially marking ten years since the first Stockport Business Awards took place. We are very much looking forward to celebrating those hardworking businesses within the borough in 2021.”

2020 Stockport Business Awards Cancelled

Founders and organisers, Clarke Nicklin Chartered Accountants, have made the decision to cancel the 2020 Stockport Business awards due to the current situation regarding Covid-19. Entries opened early April with the hope this year’s event could take place at Stockport Town Hall on the 08 October. However as the situation has developed and the uncertainty around venues being open, social distancing requirements if venues do open, and the variability of the situation for businesses, the event will now be postponed until 2021.

Managing Partner of Clarke Nicklin, Andrew Baggott, commented “After ongoing discussions regarding the key factors and practicalities of hosting the 2020 Stockport Business Awards in October, and in light of the current issues being faced by all businesses with the uncertainty surrounding when things will return to some form of ‘normal’, we have taken the very difficult decision to postpone the awards until 2021. We will return stronger in 2021, as we know the wonderful Stockport business community will do, and we hope you will be there to be part of what will be an amazing event, which will also be our 10 year celebration. We would like to say a huge thank you to all our sponsors and supporters for their continued support during this time.”

To support businesses in the area the Stockport Business Awards are showcasing local businesses on Instagram, urging businesses to reach out about how they’ve adapted during this time, and giving them a platform to tell their story and promote themselves. This has already proved successful as the comments and shares have created connections by putting businesses in touch with each other to generate new business, and also to support one another. Follow @stockportbusinessawards to see more.

Laura Frost, Marketing Manager at Clarke Nicklin, commented “whilst the awards may not be taking place this year, our ethos stays the same, supporting and championing businesses in the Borough, celebrating and promoting success and achievements, and connecting businesses towards working together.”
