Supportability Raise Just under £5K at the 2019 Stockport Business Awards

This year’s Stockport Business Awards, organised by Clarke Nicklin Chartered Accountants, partnered with Stockport Based charity Supportability to raise funds on the evening. Recently re branded from Stockport CP Society, Supportability’s ethos, core values and offerings remained the same – making life better for people with disabilities.

Since 1953, they have been supporting children, young people and adults with a wide range of physical and learning disabilities, with aim to enable those children, young people and adults live as fulfilled and independent life as possible.

The Stockport Business Community donated some fantastic prizes for this year’s charity raffle, including a star prize which was a 4 star holiday to Budapest donated by Paradise Isle Holidays resulting in the charity raising just over £4700 on the night.

Becky Shorrock, Head of Fundraising gave a compelling speech about Supportability and the important work they do to improve the lives of those with complex disabilities in and around Stockport. Becky said “We’re delighted to announce that we raised £4,700 on the night! We’re absolutely overwhelmed by the support from the guests.”

Winners Revealed at the 2019 Stockport Business Awards

Last night Clarke Nicklin Chartered Accountants organised the eighth Stockport Business Awards held at the prestigious Stockport Town Hall. Over 380 people were in attendance at the black tie awards dinner to celebrate the success and achievements of the region’s finest. 

TV presenter, Jenny Powell, hosted the awards for the third year running and did a fantastic job of keeping the excited crowd engaged for those all-important moments. Supportability were this year’s Charity Partner and raised just under £5000 on the evening.

Andrew Baggott, Managing Partner of Clarke Nicklin chartered accountants commented; “Yet again the night was a resounding success. The room was extremely vibrant and positive, with the Stockport business community celebrating some amazing winners and shortlisted companies. Each year we continue to find, and are able to highlight the great businesses that Stockport has to offer.”

Jenny Powell To Host the 2019 Stockport Business Awards

Stockport Business Awards organisers Clarke Nicklin Chartered Accountants are thrilled to announce TV Presenter Jenny Powell will once again host the awards dinner on Thursday 10th October for the third year running.

Jenny started her career back in 1985 and was one of the presenters of Top of the Pops, hostess on ITV’s Wheel of Fortune, and fronted Soap Fever, Live Talk, Getaway and Our House for UKTV Style, and has been regular on ITV’s Loose Women.

She appeared as a contestant on Channel 4’s Celebrity Come Dine With Me, and BBC One’s Celebrity MasterChef. Jenny recently hosted a dining experience with Hollywood Heavyweight Sylvester Stallone at Manchester Central for the promotion of his latest film Rambo: Last Blood, where she interviewed Stallone with an audience of over 900 people.

Tickets Now on Sale!

Last week main sponsors and organisers, Clarke Nicklin Chartered Accountants, announced the shortlist for the 2019 Stockport Business Awards. Tickets are now on sale for the event which will take place once again at Stockport’s Prestigious Town Hall on Thursday 10th October, where the winners will be announced. Tickets can be purchased by emailing laurafrost@clarkenicklin.co.uk or click HERE. Individual tickets are £95 and a table of ten is £950, tickets include entry to the event, champagne on arrival, and a three course dinner with wine.

Shortlist Announced!

Entries close in four weeks time!

Organisers of the Stockport Business Awards, Clarke Nicklin, are reminding businesses in the borough to get there entries in before the deadline on Friday 21st June.

Three new categories have been added this year; Family Business of the Year, The Marketing Award and The Rising Star Award, which will hopefully ensure this year’s awards has something for everyone. Businesses in Stockport can enter as many categories as they like and it’s free to enter.

For the first time since the awards began entrants can apply online HERE Businesses also have the ability to upload supporting documents and even video. The full list of categories are as follows:

Stockport Business Awards Now Open for Entry!

The 2019 Stockport Business Awards, organised and founded by Clarke Nicklin Chartered Accountants, are now officially open for entry. This year there are 13 categories for businesses in the borough to apply for, businesses can apply for as many as they like and its free to enter. See below the full list of categories.

Stockport Business Awards Officially Launched!

On Thursday evening, organisers and main sponsors Clarke Nicklin, held an event to officially launch the 2019 Stockport Business Awards. The event was held at Stockport Homes Cornerstone Building and over 80 people attended. Guests had the opportunity to network with people within Stockport’s business community and hear all about the changes that are coming this year.

Business Development Director, Ben Poland, and Marketing Manager, Laura Frost, from Clarke Nicklin, presented updates of what to expect this year. The key announcements were as follows:

New Logo and website – The branding has had a refresh and the website has been engineered so applications can be filled out online, saved and continued at a later date on another device, and submitted through the website once completed. Entrants will also have the ability to upload documents and send videos.

New Categories – Three new categories have been added to the mix this year; Family Business of the Year, The Marketing Award, and the Rising Star Award. Click HERE Entries will open on the 1st April.

New Sponsors – The awards continue to receive ongoing support from Headline sponsors, Gorvins Solicitors, and are joined this year by new headline sponsor, Handelsbanken. Stockport Business Awards on the Hunt for New Charity Partner

Founders and organisers of the Stockport Business Awards, Clarke Nicklin, are once again on the hunt for a charity partner for the 2019 event. Entries are now open for charities to apply for the opportunity to partner up with event and benefit from all fundraising activities and proceeds from the awards. The chosen charity will get links and branding on the Stockport Business Awards website, PR coverage before and after the awards, promotion in the awards brochure, the opportunity to make a short speech on the night and to form new relationships with local business people.

The Stockport Business Awards has been an iconic event within the business community of Stockport since 2012. Last Year’s chosen charity partner, Signpost Stockport for Carers, raised over £4000 on the awards evening, Julia Hewer, Deputy Director at Signpost Stockport for Carers commented “We were absolutely thrilled to be the charity partner of the 2018 Stockport Business Awards. The generous donations made on the night have enabled more of our Borough’s unpaid carers to get a valuable break. The Awards have also given our charity an invaluable opportunity to connect with local businesses”.
