Smart Works and Stockport NHS Charity Confirmed As Charity Partners

Founders and organisers, Clarke Nicklin Chartered Accountants, are delighted to announce this year’s charity partners are Smart Works and Stockport NHS Charity. It’s a first for the awards supporting two charities this year and all part of making this year’s 10th year anniversary awards the best yet.

Smart Works were originally chosen to be the 2020 charity partner but due to the pandemic, the awards were cancelled.

Smart Works are a charity that provide high quality interview clothes and training to unemployed women in need, who have often been referred from organisations such as job centres, care homes, homeless shelters and mental health charities.

Not only do Smart Works offer invaluable training and styling advice, they also give women the confidence and self-belief to succeed at their interview and, ultimately, transform their life.

Jan Iceton, Chair of the Board of Trustees at Smart Works commented “Smart Works Greater Manchester is delighted to be Stockport Business Awards 2021 Charity Partner. We have been based in Stockport for almost 6 years, in that time delivering over 3,000 client appointments to unemployed women from local communities and being supported by over 12,000 volunteer hours. It will be simply joyful to celebrate the achievements and resilience of people and organisations across the Borough once again.”

Stockport NHS Charity exists to improve the health and wellbeing of patients by delivering services above and beyond ordinary standards. Their aim is to help patients get better quicker and stay well for longer. Fundraising helps them to achieve this through enhanced medical equipment, improved staff performance, development and wellbeing and advanced research programmes.

Charity Manager, Jenny Clarke, Commented “Stockport NHS Charity is over the moon to be chosen as a charity partner for the Stockport Business Awards. Over the past year we’ve seen how amazing the Stockport business community is, with so many organisations going above and beyond to support our vital work, so now we’re delighted to be able to support theirs.”

The Stockport Business Awards team is now appealing to businesses within the borough to once again donate a prize for the charity raffle on the evening. If you would like to donate prize please email aliceatkinson@clarkenicklin.co.uk.

This year’s entries will open in April.  For more information and regular updates follow on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. For any other queries please contact: laurafrost@clarkenicklin.co.uk
