Entries Now Closed!

Entries for this year’s Stockport Business Awards are now closed. It’s now time for the judging panel to come together and decide who they believe should be the winners at this year’s awards. The shortlist will be released at the end of July and winners announced at the awards dinner on Thursday 10th October at Stockport Town Hall.

This year’s awards categories are:

Andrew Baggott, Managing partner of Clarke Nicklin, commented “It’s been eight years that I have been reviewing entries into the Awards. When making the decision to set up the Awards all that time ago, I fully expected it to identify the excellent businesses we have here in Stockport, and eight years on I am still surprised and delighted at the vibrancy, variety and success we have in our borough. This means us judges are faced with difficult decisions every year; but that is part of what makes the Awards so interesting and exciting.”

Once the shortlist has been announced tickets will be available to purchase from organisers Clarke Nicklin.

Entries close in four weeks time!

Organisers of the Stockport Business Awards, Clarke Nicklin, are reminding businesses in the borough to get there entries in before the deadline on Friday 21st June.

Three new categories have been added this year; Family Business of the Year, The Marketing Award and The Rising Star Award, which will hopefully ensure this year’s awards has something for everyone. Businesses in Stockport can enter as many categories as they like and it’s free to enter.

For the first time since the awards began entrants can apply online HERE Businesses also have the ability to upload supporting documents and even video. The full list of categories are as follows:

Stockport CP Society announced as this years Charity Partner

Representatives from organisers, Clarke Nicklin Chartered Accountants, and headline sponsors, Handelsbanken and Gorvins Solicitors, were tasked with the judging of this year’s charity partner.

Over 30 Charities across Stockport and Greater Manchester applied for the opportunity to become charity partner for the 2019 Stockport Business Awards, and Stockport CP Society were chosen.

Stockport CP Society is an independent charity and was set up in Heaton Moor in 1953. They provide a wide range of activities and support for adults and children with physical and/or learning disabilities, and autistic spectrum conditions. They particularly focus on individuals with the most complex needs. They support over 500 people with the most complex needs to live as independent a life as possible

CEO of Stockport CP Society, Sarah Thomas, commented “As a local charity, we are always delighted to receive the backing and support of events such as the Stockport Business Awards. Being the official Charity Partner will really help us to raise awareness of both ourselves and the work we do whilst raising valuable funds to support the delivery of our services. I’d like to say a heart-felt ‘thank you’ for choosing us to be involved in the awards for 2019”.

The Stockport Business Awards has been an iconic event within the business community of Stockport since 2012. Each year the event raises over £4,000 for a local cause. Last year’s charity partner was Signpost Stockport for Careers who benefited from the support and donations.

Marketing Manager, Laura Frost of Clarke Nicklin said: “We are delighted to be supporting Stockport CP Society this year, these decisions are always the hardest as all the organisations were worthy and do such amazing work, however there can only be one charity partner. We hope we can raise as much as possible and help raise the profile of this incredible charity”.

Stockport Business Awards Now Open for Entry!

The 2019 Stockport Business Awards, organised and founded by Clarke Nicklin Chartered Accountants, are now officially open for entry. This year there are 13 categories for businesses in the borough to apply for, businesses can apply for as many as they like and its free to enter. See below the full list of categories.

Stockport Business Awards Officially Launched!

On Thursday evening, organisers and main sponsors Clarke Nicklin, held an event to officially launch the 2019 Stockport Business Awards. The event was held at Stockport Homes Cornerstone Building and over 80 people attended. Guests had the opportunity to network with people within Stockport’s business community and hear all about the changes that are coming this year.

Business Development Director, Ben Poland, and Marketing Manager, Laura Frost, from Clarke Nicklin, presented updates of what to expect this year. The key announcements were as follows:

New Logo and website – The branding has had a refresh and the website has been engineered so applications can be filled out online, saved and continued at a later date on another device, and submitted through the website once completed. Entrants will also have the ability to upload documents and send videos.

New Categories – Three new categories have been added to the mix this year; Family Business of the Year, The Marketing Award, and the Rising Star Award. Click HERE Entries will open on the 1st April.

New Sponsors – The awards continue to receive ongoing support from Headline sponsors, Gorvins Solicitors, and are joined this year by new headline sponsor, Handelsbanken. Stockport Business Awards on the Hunt for New Charity Partner

Founders and organisers of the Stockport Business Awards, Clarke Nicklin, are once again on the hunt for a charity partner for the 2019 event. Entries are now open for charities to apply for the opportunity to partner up with event and benefit from all fundraising activities and proceeds from the awards. The chosen charity will get links and branding on the Stockport Business Awards website, PR coverage before and after the awards, promotion in the awards brochure, the opportunity to make a short speech on the night and to form new relationships with local business people.

The Stockport Business Awards has been an iconic event within the business community of Stockport since 2012. Last Year’s chosen charity partner, Signpost Stockport for Carers, raised over £4000 on the awards evening, Julia Hewer, Deputy Director at Signpost Stockport for Carers commented “We were absolutely thrilled to be the charity partner of the 2018 Stockport Business Awards. Stockport Business Awards Launch Party Announced

Founders and organisers of the Stockport Business Awards, Clarke Nicklin, will be holding an evening event to launch the this years Stockport Business Awards. The launch event will take place at Stockport Homes Cornerstone building on Thursday 21st March 6-8pm. 

On the evening, guest will have the opportunity to network with businesses from the borough over a drink and a nibble, and hear the latest updates from this years awards, including new sponsors, new categories and even a new look.

Stockport Business Awards Raise Over £4000 for Signpost’ Stockport for Carers

The Stockport Business Awards, organised by Clarke Nicklin Chartered Accountants, raised over £4000 at this year’s event for charity partner, ‘Signpost’ Stockport for Carers’, with the help of businesses in and around the Stockport region.

Andrew Baggott, Managing Partner of Clarke Nicklin, commented “We are delighted to support another remarkable Stockport charity, who I know will benefit greatly not only from the funds raised, but also by relationships made on the night. Businesses in and around the region showed their generosity once again by donating an selection of raffle prizes such as iPads, restaurant vouchers, Hampers and more”.

Signpost Stockport for Carers supports anyone over the age of six years old, who is providing unpaid care for a friend, relative, partner or neighbour. This may be a parent with dementia, an adult with down’s syndrome, a partner with motor neurone disease or a sibling with autism.

One in six Stockport residents care, unpaid, for a loved one that could not manage without their support. That’s more than 32,000 people – colleagues, neighbours, friends and relatives – juggling a very physically demanding and emotional role alongside all of their other commitments.

Julia Hewer, Deputy Director at Signpost Stockport for Carers adds “We were absolutely thrilled to be the charity partner of the 2018 Stockport Business Awards. The generous donations made on the night will enable more of our Borough’s unpaid carers to get a valuable break. Watch the Highlights from this Year’s Stockport Business Awards

Three weeks Clarke Nicklin Chartered Accountants organised the seventh Stockport Business Awards held at the iconic Stockport Town Hall, where over 350 people attended to celebrate the success and achievements of the region’s best businesses.

TV presenter, Jenny Powell, hosted the awards for the second year running and SignPost Stockport for Carers raised over £4000 on the night, which will help support carers in the community.
